The fact TacFit is Australian owned, made and operated by an Australian Veteran that understands the defence requirements. And very importantly they have a partnership with Alphafit who are also Australian owned and made.
I would also mention that the Customer Service of Leon and his staff is amazing. From first enquiry to assisting with creating our custom unit, to delivery. Leon himself was even here to do a handover and instruct on installing the unit. The TFS product and service is phenomenal.

Dallas Joint Operations command in Canberra have just landed themselves a brand new TacFit Alpha unit, how do you plan to employ your TFS Unit?
HQJOCs Alpha Unit will be employed through a broad range of functions, for both the Defence staff and Civilians.
We see it as a huge benefit for our personnel having the Alpha unit, it gives us the capability of training outside, getting vitamin D, being away from the workplace, which can be quite a sedentary work environment with no windows. Outdoor training helps increase in positive moods and gives a reduction in cortisol levels, a hormone released when the body feels stress, not to forget all the obvious health benefits including lower blood pressure, reduced arthritis pain, weight loss and lowered risk of diabetes, certain cancers, osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease.
What sort of Training/activities do you currently do?
At HQJOC I have a monthly program that rotates though, combining a variety of training styles – Strength, circuits, running – (LSD, Intervals, Fartlek), sport, boxing, Low impact cardio
What do you see as the perceived benefits to your Unit from procuring your TFS Unit?
Providing the members of HQJOC the opportunity to train outdoors, with a unit that offers a lot of functional capability.
How has fitness training in the Defence force changed over the years?
It’s a lot more science based these days and in line with current fitness industry standards.
Army Training used to be about a lot of long distance running and high repetitions causing a lot of overuse injuries and a lot of high impact related issues. Now we have moved into a strength and conditioning base and more calculated training programming, the PTI’s are educated around programming which can benefit in a variety of ways especially if you’re training combat soldiers.
What sort of workouts will you use the TFS Unit for? are you able to give an example?
Our primary focus is on Strength Training, Functional circuits, Rehabilitation and Boxing.

How will the TFS Alpha Unit Benefit the Soldiers?
At HQJOC the members are across all three services, and also APS. The TFS unit will broadly help all members using the facility, by improving and increasing their fitness capability, mental & physical sustainability long-term.
